Every fashion week, I hear the same line from industry peers: It’s a marathon, not a sprint. There’s some truth to that little chatter, right down to the outfits cataloged in our street style journals. Athletes and fashion people need very specific gear to perform at their biggest events. But with the exception of a few select sneakers, what keeps us energized and moving couldn’t be more drastically different.
Starting at New York Fashion Week and heading to London, Milan and Paris, BAZAAR editors arrive at the Spring/Summer 2023 runways with our best essentials in tow. Certain items inevitably make their way into our street style every season, like a roomy yet aesthetically pleasing handbag and a sturdy portable charger to slot inside. Then there are the unique pieces that seem necessary just to capture that moment in style, from suede cowboy boots to bubble midi skirts. We’re also proud to be part of the chino obsession in 2022, even for fashion month: three of our editors wear variations of khaki pants, and two rely on the exact same pair.
