Banana Ball World Tour Weekend Recap in West Palm Beach, Florida

Written by Biko Skalla:

Thank you West Palm Beach for the greatest banana game ever. What a magnificent stadium the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches is, and to see the place filled with nearly 8,000 Nanners fans on Friday night was just absurd in the best possible way. As we rubbed shoulders with the likes of Jose Altuve, Juan Soto, Albert Pujols, Don Mattingly and a long list of other legendary major leaguers throughout the weekend, there was an unmistakable curious excitement from each of them as we talked about what the Bananas do. There was also something special about our two Bananas games sandwiched between the Astros’ games against the Marlins and Cardinals. In a stadium teeming with top big league talent all weekend, bananas were the main attraction. Surreal stuff. So let’s take a look at why Barstool, Snoop Dogg and SportCenter tuned into Bananaland all weekend long.

The Bananas started the weekend off right with a 1-2-3 first inning from Kyle, Don’t sleep on the captain, Luigs. His accomplice Bill, Gillum should have had me as a first batter too, LeRoy, scored a single and scored on a two-out single in Dakota’s 1st inning, Rocky Point Convenience Store, McFadden.

Kyle repeated his Round 1 performance with the help of a fan, and he honored the man in the stands appropriately…

Lucas, Kill ’em with locationKelley, matched Kyle’s perfect frame with one of his own at the bottom of 2nd.

Kyle dove Zak, What a weekend for the OBP, Whalin, but then pulled back three in a row to continue his dominant outing. In the lower half, Christian, Bananaland’s Iron Horse, Vasquez worked a walk/sprint and Stephen, We need MORE cameras, Felton, smoked a shot to the wall from center left for an innings exit to give the Nanners a 2-0 lead.

Kyle ended his day giving up his first hit of the night, but quickly getting a 4-6-3 double play, as the 5-year-old banana threw four scoreless frames while striking out 5.

Then we had the biggest Hey Baby in Bananas history…

Just an amazing sight. What an incredible crowd.

Stephane, I’m back, back, Chamblee, pitched a goalless bottom of the 4th on his return to the Party Animals for the first time since last spring.

Alexander, Check out Strikeouts though, Pierce, gave up two points at the start of 5th on three steps/sprints to Cosimo, Hey hey hey, Canella, Andrew, Good to see my namesake, Don and Zak Whalin. But Pierce also collected three strikeouts to block Zak on base and give the Bananas a chance to save the inning.

Jack, I’m just passing the baton, Skole, doubled to lead the bottom half and D-Mac fought his way up to 3rd to push Skole home. Michael, RBI is literally my middle name, Deeb, brought McFadden down with a groundout and the set was tied at 2 runs apiece. Dan, ADRIAN!, Oberst, celibate and Malachi, I really like Banana Ball’s pinch stroke rule, Mitchell, pinch ran for him. With two down, Vazzy came to the dish and basically put a dagger in the Party Animals for the evening…

Just things you like to see there.

collin, The Phoenic Phenatic, Ledbetter, came in and threw a scoreless top from the 6th with help from his left fielder…

In the bottom half, Stephen was hit by a pitch, stole second and scored on a walk/sprint by Malachi Mitchell to give the Bananas a 4-0 lead.

Oh and Dakota We’re gonna need a bigger goal, Albritton, got a hit at bat, much to the delight of Barstool Sports…

For anyone wondering, I speak of my sadness that the legendary Hopper of the Man Nanas couldn’t make it to West Palm Beach for the weekend. We missed you Triss!

The Party Animals escaped with a solo home run from Nick’s bat, Kneel before your king, DiBenedetto, and this is how the game would end due to the two hour time limit. Bananas win 4-1.

Thing is, after the game, SportCenter saw what we did in the third set and they really liked the way Kyle Luigs moved that tuchus…

The global sports leader wasn’t the only one impressed with Kyle and the moves of his back-up dancers…

We’ve had a custom uniform in the gear closet for you since 2016. Come get a stick, Snoop.

Before starting the only game of the World Tour, starter Bananas Christian, I want a new roommate, Dearman, had things to get rid of his chest…

For Dearman’s defense, it was remarkable how dominant Tanner, I’ve done this to her since the TCC days, Thomas, has owned it in literally every competition.

Regarding playing time Dearman and Emmanuel, Read the sign and weep, Rosario, swapped frames aimlessly. The Party Animals pushed an unearned run up the top of the 2nd, but D-Mac immediately erased it with a solo left shot in the bottom half…

Ahh, that’s right, I forgot to mention that the greatest catcher in baseball history coached first base for the Bananas. Thanks for having fun with us for the day, Johnny! Three consecutive singles from Danny Oberst, Ryan, Hit-and-Run Manual, Cox, then Christian Vasquez’ kick put the bananas in the lead.

Led 1-0, the bats of Party Animals exploded at the top of the third net with 3 points (including 2 deserved) on 5 singles.

A Dalton, I have to explode Mauldin, stealing first base got the bananas going in the bottom half…

Mr. LeRoy followed that up with an RBI walk/sprint, then Reece, I’ll take two bags for the price of one, Hampton, doubled to Malachi who was once again in the race.
But Manny was able to hold the Bananas on those two points and the Party Animals tied the game at one.

Dearman ended his afternoon with a scoreless top of the 4th and Sean, Give me Vava or give me death, Fluke, returned the favor in the bottom half.

The Animals clinched a run with back-to-back walks from DiBenedetto and Breland, Watch me crawl Almadova, out of Mat, I’m here to shoot my shot, Wolf. Bill made sure the round was over after that though…

Garette, I am a problem Delano, sliced and diced the bananas down the 5th to give the Party Animals their first lead of the weekend…

It was Garett’s two straight Ks after Vazzy hit a single to start the frame.

The Party Animals kept the pressure on the Bananas by playing another run in the top of the 6th on a Sam, Let’s not get hot, Claycamp, single then Jacob, This is the way, Teston, walk/sprint RBI.

Delano hit the first two men he faced in the bottom half to make it four straight out of Nanner, then popped Donny Banana Ball to secure the 3-1 victory for the Animals.

There are a few other highlights to share from the day, the first of which is Mat Wolf starting his round of the shotgun…

And how could I not mention Jake Skole’s WWE-inspired walkup…

And last but not least is Bill between the legs thrown in the second row…

All in all, it was a truly magical weekend in West Palm Beach. We can’t thank everyone enough who came from far and wide to pack the Ballpark of the Palm Beaches. What a great arena for Banana Ball, and again none of this would be half as amazing without the best fans in the world bringing outrageous energy to every game.

Thanks for reliving another ridiculous weekend of banana-packed action with me! The World Tour returns to Savannah this weekend for two more matches at glorious Grayson Stadium. Those matches will be on ESPN+, then we’ll be back on The Tube (YouTube), for matches in Columbus and Birmingham next week. Hope to see you all in Savannah or on The Plus (as it’s called in the encores) Friday and Saturday night!
