Gucci blunders as £ 2,000 tracksuit is compared to pedo Jimmy Savile’s wardrobe
Gucci is selling a shiny blue tracksuit that could be straight out of pedo TV star Jimmy Savile’s wardrobe.
But fans of the fashion label will have to pay through the nose to match the style of vile sexual predator Jim’ll Fix It.
The light blue top costs £ 1,050 and the matching bottoms cost another £ 1,250.
And fashion insiders were quick to point out that the expensive clobber looks like the tracksuits worn by the disgraced star.
A source told the Daily Star Sunday: “Obviously it was not done on purpose.
“But it’s kind of weird how much it looks like one of Savile’s outfits. Why would anyone want to be like him?
The late sex demon was often dressed in garish tracksuits, topped with his gold Rolex branding, heavy chains and bracelets.
The Italian firm said of the polyester top: “Shiny fabrics that defy the rules find a new purpose in familiar silhouettes. Here, this tracksuit-style sweatshirt is made in shiny and supple technical polyester jersey. The eye-catching light blue material serves as a canvas for iconic details like the equestrian-inspired vintage Gucci logo.
Cigar smoker Savile was one of the UK’s top performers in the 1970s and 1980s.
He raised millions for charity, but it appeared he had abused more than 1,000 victims over six decades using his status and influence to evade suspicion.
The evil artist died in 2011 at the age of 84.
But investigations after his death revealed that he had used his involvement with organizations such as charities, hospitals, prisons and the BBC to prey on his victims.
In 2014, investigations into Savile’s activities at 28 NHS hospitals, including the Leeds General Infirmary, concluded that he had sexually assaulted staff and patients between the ages of five and 75.
