Hermès Fall/Winter 2022 show unveiled stunning leather outfits

Hermès’ Spring-Summer 2022 collection was bright and energizing (artistic director Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski was literally inspired by the sun). However, for fall-winter 2022, the mood of the Hermès chest of drawers is visibly changing. She’s not as carefree, but more mysterious and slightly reclusive – taking time to recover from an action-packed summer. Vanhee-Cybulski brought a more moody touch to its fall lineup by working in a color palette containing black, browns, olives and cool blues. The first look, a skintight striped jacket and skirt set, was inky black, which set the tone for the rest of the show. (The vertical lines were a nod to the horizon and repeated throughout the collection on various pieces.)

Working with black can feel safe and familiar – almost too familiar – but visionaries like Vanhee-Cybulski can still push the boundaries here. The designer did this by launching must-have slick blazers, exquisite tailored coats and flowing leather tops that moved with the wearer. A black fleece half-zip, which featured an equestrian saddle detail on the front, was paired with equally dark trousers, elevating the idea of athleisure for Hermès’ refined clientele. Meanwhile, black thigh high boots and mini dresses offered a touch of sensuality. (The shoes also served as a solid reminder that this style is about to return in winter.)

As the models moved down the runway, viewers probably noticed how all the perfectly fitting clothes moved on the body, as if there was a wind turbine at the end of the runway. (Maybe there was?) This ease in design is certainly a continuation of Vanhee-Cybulski’s work from his spring collection. “For me, it’s really about clothes that allow you to move freely. I think it’s not about going to something too casual – I think it’s about making an effort, but also being able to move in your clothes. she had said to vogue spring 2022 offers.

The idea of easy dressing and understated elegance is reflected throughout the fall range in long-sleeved bodysuits, sheer dresses and printed skirts with side slits. “She feels powerful today. Her slender stride follows a path that can never be undone. Not today. Never,” read the show’s notes. Vanhee-Cybulski wants the Hermès woman to feel in control. her destiny and taking charge of the way she dresses is one way to tap into that confidence.” Wide-eyed, happy, she’ll walk vaporously ensconced in a loose-fitting lichen blue sheepskin reversible coat – powerful, in synergy with her own intensity”, read the notes.

At the end of the presentation, guests who have leafed through the show notes will be faced with a simple question that stands out: “Where are we going tomorrow?” I don’t know about you, but I will follow the example of the Hermès woman. Ahead, check out more runway looks from the fashion house’s Fall ’22 collection.
