How to play an Olympic-themed version of the Google Chrome dinosaur game

Source: Android Central

In our modern world, nothing is as frustrating as when we lose our internet connection. Not only can you not be that productive, but you generally can’t be that entertained either. Fortunately, if you use Google Chrome (and the majority of our readers do), you can play the “hidden” dinosaur jumping game. Of course, you don’t have to wait for the connection to go down. You can access: chrome: // dino anytime to play. There are even fun iOS and (soon) Android home screen widgets to play with. But this update to the Google Chrome dino game that brings Olympic mode is so entertaining, and it’s just in time for the Tokyo 2021 Summer Olympics.

How to play an Olympic-themed version of the Google Chrome dinosaur game

  1. Open a new tab in Google Chrome.
  2. Type chrome: // dino.
  3. If you are on a computer, press space bar to start.
  4. If you are using a phone or tablet, tap the screen to start.
  5. Progress in the game as you normally would, by pressing the space bar or touching the screen to jump over cacti, birds and other obstacles.
  6. When you see a blue olympic torch, fall on it (don’t worry, it won’t kill you).

Running the Torch converts the game into Olympic mode, putting your dinosaur in one of the many themed outfits and turning cacti into Olympic sports obstacles like hurdles or balance beams.

The specific version of the Olympic game you get is random and may vary. So far we’ve come across at least three distinct versions including swimming, athletics, surfing, equestrian events, and gymnastics. If you don’t see this version, try bumping into a cactus and restarting the game. If it still doesn’t work, you may need to log in / out of your Chrome browser or make sure you have the version the most recent.

You can enjoy this fun version of the game in Google Chrome whether you’re on a Mac, Linux, Windows PC, or one of the best Chromebooks. Of course, it’s also available on Chrome on Android and iOS – and believe it or not, it works great on iOS!
