Newly-married Jennifer Gates opens up about challenges with wedding plans
The past weekend was a true fairy tale as Jennifer Gates, daughter of Bill Gates and Melinda Gates, married her longtime boyfriend, Nayel Nassar.
Their wedding took place at the Gates Family Farm in Westchester County, New York, which has been transformed into a picturesque flower show by the best talent in the industry.
How the magic began
As Vogue reports, The newlyweds hit it off after meeting on the equestrian circuit, and their longtime relationship turned into a proposition at Jenn’s favorite ski slope in January 2020.
As the bride is currently attending medical school and the groom is focused on his career as an equestrian athlete, the preparations for their wedding required the help of several people.
The stars responsible for the glam event include the famous Marcy Blum events, who were in charge of the planning, while Rishi Patel of HMR Designs was in charge of the jaw-dropping floral designs.
Jean Georges and Creative Edge Catering provided mouth-watering meals, and the flower-adorned six-layer cake was baked by renowned pastry chef Sylvia Weinstock.
The newlyweds also expressed their deep gratitude to their supporters at the media. In Jenn’s words,
âWe are so grateful to everyone involved who kept us on track and helped bring our vision to life. “
The fairytale wedding
The romantic event began on Friday, October 15, with the Islamic wedding ceremony, which only the couple’s relatives attended.
On Saturday, the main event was an open-air fairytale-themed ceremony, featuring beautiful colorful flowers and two lovebirds.
The bride wore a stunning ivory long-sleeved Vera Wang gown that was custom designed with hand-applied French macramÃ© lace to the bodice, sleeves and her chapel-length veil.
The groom was also handsome in an elegant Armani tuxedo paired with a Lily of the Valley boutonniere to match his wife’s bouquet.
After the service, the billionaire’s daughter wore a different Vera Wang gown, similarly designed with hand-applied French macrame lace for her reception, which was held in a tent.
Undoubtedly delighted with her bespoke outfits, the 25-year-old sang the praises of the designer. In his words,
“[Vera Wang] is an icon in the fashion industry and a pioneer as a woman who changed careers late and followed her passions. From our first meeting, I knew I was in such good hands.
The newlyweds graced the dance floor to the song “Yellow Lights”, performed by their friend Harry Hudson, while their guests enjoyed a delicious dinner.
The happy bride also shared a photo of the moment she walked down the aisle with her man on Instagram. next to the words “My Universe” followed by a white heart emoji and their wedding date.
The doors come together
On their eldest daughter’s big day, the business mogul and his ex-wife, Melinda, have come together to show their support as a family.
PEOPLE revealed that the proud parents shared touching congratulatory messages on social media, in which they both shared how happy they were for the couple.
On D-Day, the ex-spouses were also caught walking alongside their daughter down the aisle. Bill’s Instagram post expressed how grateful he was that everyone could come together for Jenn’s big day.
The billionaire and Melinda have split after 27 years together. Nonetheless, the couple continue to work together on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which they launched in 2000.
